This is my final week of my senior year. I made it through the whole school year. I got my grades up and don’t have to take some of my finals. Overall my high school career went by fast. Even though half of my sophomore year and all of my junior year were online. I thank all my teachers for helping me get where I am now. The only one reading this (Mrs. Lore), Id like to thank you for helping me become a better reader and writer. As of right now I have read 4 books in your class. That’s more books than I’ve ever read in general. So, thank you for helping me do something I never thought I could do. I never truly realized that a book can be enjoyed if it is he right one. I can write papers so much easier after taking your English class. So, one again, thank you for everything you have helped me accomplish this school year. I look forward to being able to apply it to my life after high school.

Over the last few months I have come to a conclusion on what I’m going to do after I graduate. I really thought about going to MTI for the Journeyman Welding 1 course. However, I thought about it more, and I’d just really like to be done with school. I realize welding skills can help you get a really good job, but I just want to be done. I thought about what else I could do for a long time. I decided I was thinking about it too hard. I want to find something I enjoy doing. So I got tired of thinking about it and went to wash my car. That’s when it hit me. I enjoy washing and detailing my car. I have everything I need to open a car detailing shop. I know a decent amount of people and feel like I could eventually get around to enough people to make something of it. It was really embarrassing to me when someone asked me what I was doing after I graduate and I had the answer of “I don’t know”. Now I actually have something that I can say. At first I would start over the summer, and probably be doing the work from home. I would obviously have another job as well, until I feel I can make it with just the detailing business. If I do. Then one day I would be able to buy a shop and open it up and have more space for supplies. I will start off by making a Facebook post about it. I have recently been developing a website for the detailing business. Once I can get around I feel like I would be able to make it. Everyone I know has suggested I work for a dealership and detail cars there. I though about it and realized it would be easier, but where is the fun in that? I want to be my own boss, use my own stuff, and be in charge of how things get done.

Apart from that, I will continue to build my car and put new parts on it. I will continue to read and write using the skills I have learned from school.

For my 7th blog post of the year I have a lot to share. As far as school I could be doing better. I kind of let things get away from me and I now have to fix my grades a little. However this blog post is going to be about valentines day plans I have with my girlfriend and my car.

As far as my car goes, I got the things I wanted to get done done. During Christmas break I took my car to the shop and got everything done. I got my blow off valve done, my lowering springs, and my exhaust. I was very happy with how everything turned out. The exhaust sounds good thank god and doesn’t make my car sound like trash. The lowering springs make the car sit about to the perfect height, and the blow off valve sounds cool.

Other than that me and my girlfriend have come up with things to do together for valentines day. In the morning we are going ice skating. I have only been once and i didn’t get too far with it. She knows how to skate and everything else so I’m just going to get laughed at the whole time, but its fine because at least she will be happy. After ice skating we were going to go to Portillos. They have a really good Italian beef sandwich that you dip in a dressing. After we eat that we are going to go to the mall. I thought it would be cool if we went to build a bear and made build-a-bears together. I wanted to do it even more after shew told me she has never been there. We were going to just walk around the mall after that and maybe buy a few more things. We just wanted to have a fun day together so we came up with a whole bunch of things to do in one day. As of right now that is everything I have going on in my life, besides waiting to hear back from Walmart about a job, but yeah thats all for now.

This month we read a Sci-Fi book in class. Overall I think the book was good. I read “Honor Among Thieves”. It was a very long book to read but I ended up finishing it anyway. I feel as though the lens work we did made me think about the book more, and really helped me understand it. Working with a group also helped me. I got to connect with other group mates about things in the book. That also helped me understand and follow the book more. Talking with our groups really helped me stay focused, and all of the activities we did made me actually think about what I was reading in different ways. Overall, the book was good. However, I think the book is very repetitive. For example things would happen in the past with past honors, and then later on in the book they would happen the exact same way to the new honors Zara and Bea. I like that the honors are taken on the journey in a leviathan, which is a giant alien ship from outer space. The ship, Nadim, talks to Zara and bea through a chip that was put in their heads. I like this because it adds a good Sci-Fi element to the story. Not every story has a talking, living alien spaceship. I also like how the book shows that anything is possible. Everyone believed that only the rich get selected and taken on the trip. However, Zara is from the Lower Eight and doesn’t have much and she gets picked for the honors. In conclusion I liked the book “Honor Among Thieves”, but It was repetitive and I think the story was too long for me personally. I recommend this book to someone who likes longer stories and Sci-Fi.

This month is going by very fast. As soon as we came back from Thanksgiving break Its like the time went by fast. I had a good thanksgiving. I went to my girlfriends first and ate way too much. as soon as I was done eating there we went to my house and I at as much as I can without hurting my moms feelings by not eating. Even though the food at my girlfriends is amazing and the food at home was not so amazing, I still got to eat dinner with my family. We don´t do that much anymore because everyone´s schedule is different. Then Saturday I ate a little more at my grandparents, and got to listen to everyone tell me how much I´ve grown. Other than that my Thanksgiving break was amazing and I definitely ate way too much.

With Christmas break coming up I have a few different plans in mind. I want to take my girlfriend out to dinner and drive around looking at Christmas lights. I also want to give her something very special. Christmas dinner is going to be the same way. I´m definitely going to my girlfriends to eat first. This is my first Christmas with my girlfriend and I can´t wait. Especially since we love to do things together. Over Christmas break I also have a few plans for my car. I´m taking money that i´ve saved up over the year, out of the bank to buy a few parts. I want to buy the blow off valve that I wrote about when I fist got my car. Right now there is just a cover where the bov is going to go. As soon as you take that off you can take the old spring out and put the new ones in. There are different springs for the different amount of boost you want. I´m putting two springs in side by side. This is supposed to make the turbo flutter which is different than the normal sound it would make. Which is more like the sound of air blowing out of the engine. I´m not for sure that it will work, but that´s the fun part I have no idea what sound its going to make. Either way I´m happy. The next thing I wanted to buy is lowering springs. This just goes in place of the springs on the car now and they have a different length which lowers the car. It drops the car about an inch and a half front and back, so the car should sit over the wheels. Which looks so much better, and that´s what I want. I also want to get Leds for the inside of my car that go under the dash. There are some cool ones I found as well, that can go around the radio and stuff. I´ll post pictures when I get everything done.

As of now I can´t wait for Christmas break. I have a lot of things planned and can´t wait to do them. I cant wait to spend time with my family and my girlfriend, who´s definitely going to be getting more time.

Since last week not much has happened. We are going on thanksgiving break after today and we have a whole week out of school. I cant wait to have thanksgiving dinner, but I’m not sure how I’m going to manage having to go to three of them in one day. one right after the other. The one that excites me the most is the one my girlfriend is having. Her dad is an amazing cook, and they love thanksgiving and food. So there is going to be a lot of amazing food there. I only brag about the food there so much because, my family doesn’t have the best cooking skills. My parents all have that one thing that they can cook very well, anything else is a different story. After I go to my parents and my girlfriends, I have to go to my grandparents thanksgiving. The food there is the same as my parents they have that one dish and that’s all they should be allowed to cook. I love my family so much, but they cant cook. So I’m going to my girlfriends first so I can say that I’m full everywhere else. Even though that’s kind of rude. So yeah, that’s what I’m doing for thanksgiving. As far as the rest of my break goes I plan on doing a few things to my car. Such as cleaning it inside and out. I also want to tint the headlights an tail lights. I have to make it a light tint so I don’t get pulled over because if they are too dark its illegal. For now its just an easy fix to make them look better until I get the ones I want that have a black housing. Tinting the widows is also something I want to do but id have to pay an extra $200 to get the back window fixed, just so they could roll it down for like 10 minutes. I also wanted to paint the rims black because I think it would look better. That’s pretty much how my thanksgiving break is going to go.

Other than break I want to finally talk about school a little bit. In English we just finished reading “The Great Gatsby”. In my opinion it was a good book. In the beginning it started off a little bit boring, but once you meet Gatsby you start to have suspicions about him. He is such an odd character, but you can’t help but wonder who he actually is, and that kept the book interesting for me. The ending is not what I expected at all, but overall it was a great book. I don’t like how daisy just walked away from all of it, and three people died from her mistake. Hitting and killing Myrtle caused Mr Wilson to kill Gatsby and himself after. All because of Daisy’s mistake, and she just got to walk away from all of it like nothing happened. With Tom the one she just wanted to leave for Gatsby. I get that all of that was probably stressful for her. That 5 years later here is the man she fell in love with, and now he’s convincing her that she doesn’t really love who shes with and he was just a place holder. She didn’t know how or hat to think so I get its an accident that led to other problems. However, you don’t get to just ruin everyone’s life around you, and then walk away. That’s all for this week.

Last week I finished the first quarter of my senior year. Not really a big deal but it just went by so fast. Other than that school is still the same for me.

A few weeks ago my girlfriend and I decided to go to Rader family farms, which is a really cool pumpkin patch. we talked about it for a while but couldn’t figure out a good time to go. So since her birthday was October 12 we went on the 13th. She didn’t want to go anywhere on her birthday or we would have gone then. It was a very nice place. There were so many cool things to do, and we wanted to do it all. However, when we decided to eat they told us they were only taking credit cards. That kind of ruined everything because I only had cash. Due to us planning this way before we already knew everything we were going to do, and the order we were going to do it in. We talked about going into the gift shop and buying something for each other, but the whole card thing ruined that too. The lines for everything were so long and there was definitely way more people there than I thought there would be. I remembered when we were leaving that I had a gift card in my car. I wanted to use it to get the things we wanted for each other in the gift shop. I wasn’t sure if it would work. We already had different plans for eating so we just had to go to the gift shop. I ended up getting her a pair of very soft socks and she loved them. She got me a little glass pumpkin, I thought it was so cool. After that we decided to head out. Popeye’s was not to far from the farm so that was where we were going to eat. The only problem was that was my first time ever driving on the highway so I missed the exit and we just continued home. When we got back into town we then made our final decision for food and settled with Culver’s.

For this blog i’m going to mainly focus on my car. Its been a while since I made a post but nothing different has really happened. As far as school goes Its the same. I haven’t dreaded coming yet but waking up is defiantly still an issue. I build and programmed a robot in robotics and thought that was pretty cool though. That class isn’t easy for me at some times due to not being as tech smart as the others in the class but it is still fun. Other than that there isn’t anything different about me and school.

In the last post I talked about how I finally got my car. After waiting a few weeks he title finally came through the main and with a few signatures it was mine. I haven’t changed anything about it yet but i’ve thought about it so much I cant choose what I want to do first. I really want to put it bags (air suspension), which is a suspension mod with a whole system that basically makes your car go either up or down when you press the button. Its like airing your car up and deflating it causing it to sit lower to the ground. It costs a lot of money and time to install but its something I want to do because I think its cool. My dad doesn’t really agree with it but “its your car, do what you want” he tells me while walking away from the conversation. He thinks is a nice car and it should stay the way it is, but I know it can be better so I’m going to do a few things to it to make it look better to me. I’m also going to do a few things performance wise. Like a cold air intake which makes your car breath better i guess you could say. It allows the car to take in more air. This can cause a small increase in horse power. I also want a blow off valve for the turbo. The blow off valve makes the turbo make a fluttering sound when the turbo gets done spooling.

Another thing I want to do to it is get different rims. I think it makes the car look better and its something my dad does agree with. The only problem with getting the rims I want is when you put them on the car it moves the wheels out from under the fenders a bit. I need to learn how to fix that because I don’t want my car looking like a monster truck. Now I know I only drive a Chevy Cruze, but its what I have and I want to make it better for me and those are the things I will eventually do to my poor car. Its not a sports car or anything, its actually kind of slow, but the part that makes me the happiest is knowing I bought it with my own money and own it. That’s it for this post I probably wont have any of that done to my car by next week but i’m sure ill have more ideas to share.

Its been a few weeks since the last blog but since then a few things have happened. The purpose of this post is going to be a little bit about school and more about my personal life. So i’m going to tell you how my life has gone since he last post i made.

So first off school. So far its still going good, way better than I thought it was going to go. We do more work in class so we don’t have much homework, I like that. I’ve met new people and made a few new friends. I’ve also gotten back in contact with a few people that I lost contact with over the whole quarantine process. So overall its going pretty good and i haven had any regrets on coming back to in person learning. Waking up is the biggest struggle and the one thing that makes me dread it at some points, but once i’m here everything is okay.

Besides school my personal life is going pretty good. I turned 18 and i have a few good things going for me right now. In the last blog I talked about how i was going to get a car when I turned 18. I’m now 18 and still dont have a car. However, I bought one about a week ago. I dont have it right now because there was issues with the title through the seller and the title has to come through the mail in order for me to officially own the car. So once that happens its all mine.

Yesterday I finally got a text saying the title is now coming through the mail. looking for a car took more time than I thought it would, but at least I know im going to have one soon. The last one I was looking at sold right before I made it there. A few days after it sold i was coming home from Walmart and the car I was going to buy drove right passed me. I thought it was kind of funny but made me mad at the same time. So I was back to looking for one. A few days later my dad texted me and told me he found a car for me. He had asked a guy at work to try and find me a car since he wasn’t doing anything. He asked him what kind of car I was looking for “a 2015 Chevy Cruze LTZ RS”, my dad said. Shocking enough his wife owns that exact car and was trying to sell it. So the following morning we went and looked at it, drove around. A few hours later I ended up buying it. I’m very happy with my purchase, but we have to wait for the title in the mail and their address was messed up. In a few days now that its all sorted out it will be mine. I know you will hear about that in the next post so be ready for that I have a lot to say. That’s all for this post.

I’m finishing up week two of my senior year today. I am happy with the way school is currently going. So far it has been great so I don’t have much to say about that, However, I have a little bit to say about my personal life right now so that’s what this first post is going to be about.

I turn 18 tomorrow and I’m about to take a few steps in my life that I never thought I’d see myself taking. I’ve been looking for a car for a while, the plan was to find the right one and buy it on my birthday. Unfortunately “the right one” was sold this morning. So it’s back to looking. I know what I want I just have to find another good one and buy it hopefully soon I’ve been counting down the days for a while. So when that happens it will definitely be in a post. hopefully, the next one.

There is a lot of good things happening in my life right now and I’m happy with how I’m doing as a student so far. Things were great until last night when I got a text from a friend, he’s like a brother to me. Anyway, he texted me to tell me our grandpa probably wasn’t going to make it through the night. He has been fighting cancer for a while now and he’s been doing great until last night. His grandpa gave me my first job which was fencing. We worked every day in the summer all hours of the day putting up fences. Over the course of 4 years, we got really close and I now see him as my grandpa. He’s had his ups and downs good days here bad days there but he is always still making jokes and making everyone happy. He also made it through the night.

In conclusion, These aren’t the things id like to post about but for right now it’s all I have. Maybe next week ill be able to post about my new car or even something that happened at school. Something will happen before my next post so ill have hopefully something better and more to say in the next post.
